Most men think exercise is just about getting abs or looking good at the beach. But the Bible shows a different reason to move your body—it’s about worship.
Paul writes, “For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things” (1 Timothy 4:8, NIV). God isn’t against working out. He’s reminding us that training our body has purpose—but it must point to something greater: spiritual strength.
Exercise in the Bible isn’t about vanity. It’s about stewardship. Your body is a temple (1 Corinthians 6:19–20). When you take care of it through exercise, rest, and clean eating, you’re honoring the One who built it.
Science backs this up. Studies show that regular strength training and cardio improve mental clarity, lower stress, and boost energy. The healthier your body, the sharper your mind—and the stronger your faith walk can become.
So, stop separating “fitness” and “faith.” The Bible doesn’t. Move your body as worship. Train like a soldier of Christ. Build the endurance to serve your family, your church, and your calling with strength and joy.
Challenge: This week, dedicate one workout to prayer. As your heart beats faster, thank God for the ability to move and commit your strength to Him.
